    FAN Club meeting announcement
     

    We are excited to be partners in education with you to make our school the best it can be for all students. Please join us in this informal monthly meeting to ask questions, address concerns, and share ideas for improvement on Thursday, April 22nd at 6:00pm.

    2nd SEMESTER INFORMATION

    Second semester starts Monday, January 11, 2021 at 8:30 am. We remain in a distance learning model for the beginning of the semester but look forward to a time where we re-open for in-person instruction and all the school activities that make YCHS great. As local health directions change in the coming weeks, and YCUSD adjusts, we will keep students and families updated with our re-opening plans.
      
    Now for some more VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION…
     
    • Second semester schedules can be accessed via the Aeries Student and Parent Portals through Classlink. Directions for this are attached and can also be found on our school website.
    • Schedule change requests need to be emailed directly to your school counselor . Your counselor will reply with a link to a google form for a schedule change request. Please note that due to class size, safety, and staffing constraints, schedule change requests may not be granted.
    • Chromebook and technology questions should be directed to the school district YCUSD website at www.ycusd.org and click the button on the right side of the page that says  “IT Help Desk”

    5 TIPS FOR STUDENT SUCCESS
      • Attend class every day. Daily attendance is taken by teachers monitoring whether a student logged into their Google classroom and participated. Students not attending will be considered truant and will receive phone calls, emails, truancy letters, and home visits by truancy officers and school staff.
      • Be on time, be prepared with work and materials for every class, and turn on your cameras.
      • Follow school behavior and dress guidelines and be respectful of classmates and staff. Remember that hateful, discriminatory, harassing, or vulgar behavior and speech towards students and staff is not permitted during class time and failure to follow rules may result in disciplinary action. Remember, Honkers are better than that and “WE DON’T DO THAT AT YCHS!”.
      • Grades count and credit is earned by completing all assignments assigned by teachers. Failure to earn credit in a class results in having to re-take the class at another time and jeopardizes graduation and earning a diploma.
      • Intervention time is built into the school day and students who are earning grades of D/F are expected to attend Intervention time with the teacher of the class they are earning the low grade in. Students needing extra help, regardless of their grade, may also attend Intervention time as needed.
