NJROTC Color Guard
The Honker Battalion Color Guard team presents the colors at the beginning of sporting events and other various ceremonies. Our Color guard also marches in parades competes at competitions throughout the Greater-Sacramento area.
We have various Color Guard teams, including a varsity, junior varsity, freshman only, and other variations such as grade, all female, all seniors among others. The Color guard teams compete in regulation drill and execute movements based on a drill card. A team consists of a minimum of four members: two armed with a rifle and the others bearing the National Ensign and Navy flag. However, on various occasions we include the California State flag.
Our Color Guard loves to perform! Local groups and organization may request the Honker Color Guard at an event or ceremony. Request should be made a minimum of 30 days in advance to LT Maury Castaneda via email at mcastaneda@ycusd.org.
